Irma is a Lithuanian-born, Sydney-based set / production designer, photographer and artist. Her artworks are intricate, intriguing, usually minimalistic, evocative, sensual, intimate, and expressive.
She studied many forms of art making through tertiary studies in Set Design, Jewellery and Interior Design and became most drawn to ink as the preferred medium for artistic expression.
Irma draws inspiration from nature, primitive cultures, shadow puppetry, geometric and organic shapes, human psychology, relationships and interaction. The latest body of work called "Don't Let Go" is a series of continuous line drawings depicting various emotions. The themes of connection, attachment, abandonment, isolation and afterlife are present.
Her works are held in private collections in Australia, Europe and the United States. Irma is currently working on production design for a sci-fi feature film "Abyss" and is also developing a series of line drawings for an upcoming immersive solo show.
